In this article, we wish to introduce you to the important terms and concepts that often appear in the terminology related to skincare and health. We want to provide you with the knowledge and answers, to find the optimal balance of your body and enhance your health and beauty.

Vitamin

Vitamins are organic molecules, which are essential for the health and functioning of the human body. There are over 30 types of vitamins, where scientists are still discovering new ones, where Vitamin C, Vitamin A, and Vitamin E are most commonly popular. Their role is essential for the proper functioning of cells and realizing their metabolism and chemical processes. Lack of some vitamins, such as Vitamin C or Vitamin B, is noticeable even in a very short time such as 24 hours. Therefore, vitamins are important to consume regularly on a daily basis. In nature, vitamins are produced by plants or animals. The best sources of vitamins are fresh fruits, although many important vitamins are also found in animal foods, such as eggs and cheese.

Mineral

Minerals are inorganic elements that come from the soil and water and are absorbed by plants or eaten by animals. There are around 40 types of minerals, where Calcium, Magnesium, and Iron are most commonly popular. In the human body, minerals are so important, because they provide structural and chemical integrity of cells, as well as their ability to sustain various sub-atomical processes, such as ionizing of cellular membranes. In human nutrition, minerals are very often neglected. But their lack or imbalance can have huge negative effects on health. For example, lack of iron can lead to anemia, which is a condition that has a very big negative impact on overall health. The best sources of vitamins are found in dairy products, green leafy vegetables, but also in meat, and even fruits such as lemon.

Antioxidant

Antioxidants are substances that participate in the body's defense against oxidative stress and play an important role in enveloping cellular structures that are sensitive to so-called free oxygen in the cellular space. Free oxygen, also known as free radicals, are oxygen atoms that are not bound to any particular single molecule. In large numbers, these atoms have the ability to bind to other cell molecules and disturb their configurations, which has very negative consequences because it destroys cell structures. Free oxygen is in the body created by various metabolic processes. Also, certain types of food, or the way it is prepared, can lead to chemical reactions that create a larger amount of free radicals, directly or indirectly through immune and chemical reactions in the body. The consequence of free radicals can be very serious. They have the ability to penetrate the cell nucleus and damage DNA, which usually leads to cell death and thus tissue damage, which therefore lose function and lead to organ failure during the time. One of the most serious diseases that can occur due to their increased effect is cancer. One of the most famous and most important antioxidants is vitamin C, which has a pronounced antioxidant effect. At least 10 times stronger antioxidant effect on cells has Vitamin E, However, in the chemical structure of cells, there are antioxidants that have even 1000 times the stronger antioxidant effect, such as glutathione, which cells produce the same in their organelles. What is important, always keep in mind how important antioxidants are. Disturbed balance in the body can last for years without showing any clear symptoms. And once they are noticed, the damage is already done, therefore it takes a lot of time, several months, and even a years for the balance to recover. In maintaining health and beauty, it is necessary to pay special attention to a balanced and healthy diet. The best natural sources of antioxidants are fresh fruits (especially berry fruits) and vegetables.

Beauty

Beauty is commonly described as a feature of objects that makes these objects pleasurable to perceive. Such objects include landscapes, sunsets, humans and works of art. Beauty, together with art and taste, is the main subject of aesthetics, one of the major branches of philosophy. As a positive aesthetic value, it is contrasted with ugliness as its negative counterpart. It is often listed as one of the three fundamental concepts of human understanding besides truth and goodness.

One difficulty for understanding beauty is due to the fact that it has both objective and subjective aspects: it is seen as a property of things but also as depending on the emotional response of observers. Because of its subjective side, beauty is said to be "in the eye of the beholder". It has been argued that the ability on the side of the subject needed to perceive and judge beauty, sometimes referred to as the "sense of taste", can be trained and that the verdicts of experts coincide in the long run. This would suggest that the standards of validity of judgments of beauty are intersubjective, i.e. dependent on a group of judges, rather than fully subjective or fully objective.

Conceptions of beauty aim to capture what is essential to all beautiful things. Classical conceptions define beauty in terms of the relation between the beautiful object as a whole and its parts: the parts should stand in the right proportion to each other and thus compose an integrated harmonious whole. Hedonist conceptions see a necessary connection between pleasure and beauty, e.g. that for an object to be beautiful is for it to cause disinterested pleasure. Other conceptions include defining beautiful objects in terms of their value, of a loving attitude towards them or of their function.
